Absolutely incorrect. I said: the again indicates the poster is merely trying to bump the thread.
My personal opinion: Duplicate signatures on a petition devalue it in the eyes of the petitioned.

Really like your avatar Tater_Knuts, simply yet colourful.
Now back on topic... really guys /sign is not really helping that much.
If you take the time to /sign then please take the time to post your reasons behind signing... tell A.net your feelings, if we all make a good argument and give some good points and the pros and cons... then the chances of something better done is much greater.

cape
there should be an option to take it off. like put it in storage. it covers ur entire back & legs. i want to see my char not the cape all the time.
or hav a guild insignia on my chest.
they should cost $. 2k for unlimited when its created. maybe 100-500/cape.
the cape is so big, i was thinkin of quittin my guild jus so i can see the art work on the back of my toons.

What makes it all the more annoying if you don't like the cape is that everytime you move the camera is always fixed to roll around and place itself behind the character whenever he moves.
So you're basicaly forced to look at it 90% of the time you're playing.

I can see the necessity of visible capes in GvG battle. I agree with the toggle option (perhaps converting it to some visible insignia) - but would mandate it for GvG battle or PvP.

i had to work out an arrangement beforehand so that i can get invited back into the guild. it's really a hassel.
a.net, please do add this feature -- without it, it's like only getting half of your money's worth when getting the armor...

I've seen the back of my plate armor and I don't see anything very interesting about it. In fact, I think having a good looking cape really enhances the look of it. Anyway, I came up with a list of choices for those who are having a hard time dealing with wearing capes. (Pick one)
1. If you don't like the design of the cape, join a guild that has one you do like.
2. If you like the guild, but not the cape, then make a request to re-design it and pay the 2k for it.
3. If you don't like capes at all then either don't join a guild that has them or don't join one at all.
4. If you honestly feel that the capes must be toggleable. Then you need to play something else instead, or just deal with it.
If you still don't agree with any of the above solutions, then you need to speak with a personal counselor about working on compromising. If this post made you mad, stop. Take a deep breath. Sign-up for anger mangement classes, then see a counselor.

Yeah, thats kind of a no-brianer. People just want to be able to take it off while in towns or on a mission with other people.

Ok, I forget to mention that we could petition for short, medium, and long capes. Or now that I think about it, Guild letterman jackets and tee-shirts! Hey how cool would that be to see the female ele's, Rangers, etc... running around towns wearing only their guild tee-shirts and underwear...

Brilliant!
Don't forget about the guild emblemed tote bags and backpacks. For extra fee guild mugs for drinking that dwarven ale.
Knitted pullovers for ranger pets, too! The sky's the limit!
For that daringly patriotic mesmer - guild emblem face masks!
Warriors can have emblemed baseball caps of swordsmanship!
Monks can have custom Acetic tatoos on their chest with the guild colors and emblem!
Work with me folks!

Would you care to make one reasonable argument on why the capes shouldn't be toggled? Sounds like you're the one who needs to learn compromising.

I have to say i'm on the fence about this...having a cape does give you a feeling of team, and yes it is cool seeing a troop of guildians running through town...but heres the problem....My kick a** warrior has this girlie bum length cape on... not exactly the "Spawn-esk" flowing cape of champions...
Perhaps A-net could have atleast two styles, a slightly longer more masculin cape for the chaps, and smaller "supergirl" looking thing for the ladies? Dont see why that would be too hard to impliment, as they already have the model for one of the two styles...

OK What if your in a guild with friends you actually see and meet outside of the game and not randoms or if that guild is full of people you really get on with.

OK I ask to redesign it, but then someone else doesn't like it. Great!

Excuse me but what is guild wars about? Guilds perhaps? And oh I like the cape. Options are good and make people happy.

Well that was a waste of £30 for a game where I was informed updates would be regular and that the majority of the community would be listened to. Obviouly I was wrong. Because you represent the minority!

Actually, that's a fault in logic. What I *FEEL* has nothing to do with what I need to have. I might gripe and grind and whine and still love the game. A game is NOT only appearance, not in the least, and GW has a depth that even its great appearance won't match.
I like the idea of toggleable cape on yourself - but you should always be identifiable to others as member of a certain guild, me thinks.

i favor this toggleable capes. as with the issue with the identification guild, i have a suggestion. when the cape is toggle off, instead of the guild tag after the player's name, the full guild name is visible.

Eh, not really practical - some of the guilds out there have names that would stretch pretty far. Nice try though.
I don't think identification beyond the tag is really necessary, saying the cape identifies a specific guild presumes two things:
1. No two guilds' capes are similar enough that they can't be distinguished from each other easily.
2. People know and easily recognize all (or at least a good number) of guild capes and can determine a guild with a glance at the cape.
Obviously, neither of these hold true, so the whole idea that if you remove a cape, people won't know what guild you're in just doesn't work, they have just about as much knowledge of you with the cape as without. The capes are primarily eye candy, with some use in PvP. And if the majority seems to feel that the eye candy doesn't look that good, what's the point?

I agree fully. Just a simple toggle for those things would be great.
If I could wear a tabard instead of a silly cape I would wear it all the time and love it! Why not make capes an item that you have to buy and can take off an on at the expense of maybe ten gold and a space in your inventory?!

Since we have to stare at our characters back most of the time it'd be nice to look at something besides the guild cape.
